Montage puts CXL 3.2 memory links into trial production
Montage Technology began trial production of a CXL 3.2 memory-expander controller that moves data at 64 GT/s and connects to DDR5 memory running at up to 8,000 MT/s. The company’s launch announcement says Samsung and SK hynix have integrated the chip into next-generation CXL products and completed initial validation, while the M88MX6852 specification confirms support for memory expansion and pooling. For infrastructure buyers, the milestone extends the interconnect thesis behind Eliyan’s $145 million optical-link bet: feeding accelerators increasingly means treating pooled memory and the paths into it as first-class capacity.
