Smallest.ai raises $13M for asynchronous voice AI

Smallest.ai raised a $13 million Series A, taking total funding above $21 million, and introduced an asynchronous speech-to-speech model called Hydra. The company’s announcement says Hydra processes listening, reasoning, action, and response in parallel rather than chaining each stage sequentially.
