Procore pays $845M to give construction AI eyes
Procore agreed to acquire DroneDeploy for approximately $845 million in cash, adding a robotics and reality-capture platform used on more than 3 million jobsites across 180-plus countries. The official acquisition announcement says DroneDeploy contributes roughly 20 trillion square feet of visual data, which Procore plans to pair with its construction records so AI coworkers can observe sites and initiate actions after the deal closes. For operators following the widening funnel from simulation to physical robot trials, this is a reminder that the scarce layer in embodied AI is often proprietary perception data rather than another general-purpose model.
