Spur raises $200M as bots pass human traffic

Spur Intelligence secured a $200 million investment from Insight Partners as bot traffic overtakes human activity online. Spur’s funding announcement says 94% of surveyed organizations encountered anonymizing VPNs or residential proxies in security incidents, turning origin detection into another control layer for the agent economy described in OpenAI’s 898-vulnerability cyber benchmark. Operators exposing APIs or agent tools should budget for traffic attribution alongside authentication: valid credentials no longer prove a human—or even a known automation stack—is behind a request.
