Polar raises $5.7M for a knowledge-work browser

Polar raised a $5.7 million seed round for an AI-first browser that lets knowledge workers schedule workflows, save prompts, and assign agents tasks from open tabs, with paid plans starting at $20 a month, according to TechCrunch’s report on the Madrona-led round. The narrow pitch—automation for sales, recruiting, marketing, research, and operations rather than a new default search box—sharpens the retreat from the consumer land grab examined in the browser contest between OpenAI Atlas and Ladybird. Builders should file away the pricing and positioning: browser agents are being sold as workflow runners beside a primary browser, not necessarily as its replacement.
