FCC blocks new foreign-made humanoid robots

The FCC added new foreign-produced advanced robots to its Covered List, restricting a humanoid market in which China supplied roughly 85% of global shipments. The FCC’s national-security action covers humanoids and quadruped robot dogs but leaves previously authorized devices unaffected; AP reports that about 15,000 humanoids shipped globally in 2025, with Unitree and AGIBOT each above 5,000. For operators planning around Chinese robots’ $16,000 price anchor, procurement now needs an authorization and supply-chain check before technical evaluation begins.
