AI dominates all 16 test-team conversations

An AI teammate became the most talkative member in all 16 human-AI teams in a randomized study, while contributing the least new information and the lowest information density. The 33-team preprint, which compared two-human-plus-AI groups with 17 all-human trios, also found lower human-to-human responsiveness, social impact, belonging, and perceived status when the AI joined the conversation. For managers already weighing how AI changes work rather than merely automating it, the design cue is to limit unsolicited agent airtime and measure team cohesion alongside task accuracy before calling a collaboration bot productive.
